Information on the 2024 event to come!
This inspiring walk stretched over 42.2 kilometers, starting from the Orleans Compounding Community Pharmacy and culminating at The Marshes Golf Club in Kanata. The event aimed to shed light on the importance of open dialogue and support for men facing mental health challenges.
The name "OK Walk" stands for "Orleans to Kanata," and symbolizes the journey individuals undertake when facing mental health issues. It is a bold reminder that it's okay to admit when you're not okay and that there's help and community available.
This unique initiative was carried out by Steve Cooper, who pushed his golf cart and clubs the entire distance, reflecting the determination needed to address men's mental health struggles. The journey was more than just a walk; it was a symbolic representation of the emotional and psychological distances that men often cover when dealing with their mental well-being.
The "OK Walk For Men's Mental Health" serves as a platform to encourage individuals to speak openly about their struggles and seek support when needed. It aims to break down the stigma surrounding men's mental health issues, paving the way for a more compassionate and understanding society.
We are excited to share that every dollar raised through this event was dedicated to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). By aligning with CMHA's mission, we are championing mental health awareness, education, and the vital resources that empower individuals and communities to thrive.
